We are a blended curriculum-based childcare in Tallahassee, FL. We care for children from 6 weeks to 9 years old, providing a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development right up until they are ready to join school.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on learning and creativity. By blending indoor and outdoor classrooms in a home-away-from-home environment, we create a space where children feel empowered and ready to learn.
Who We Are
I Am Prep Academy got its start in Tallahassee in December 2024 by Dr. Angela Wills. We decided to do things a bit differently at I Am Prep Academy by creating a space that fosters early learning in a fun and safe environment where children from 6 weeks to 9 years old can explore the world around them.
We believe our innovative approach gives children a bright and positive start in life as we encourage both exploration and discovery as well as emotional intelligence and building friendships.

Therapy Rooms
Our therapy rooms are thoughtfully designed to provide children with the individualized support they need to grow and thrive. These dedicated spaces are equipped with specialized tools and resources to deliver occupational therapy, as well as speech and language therapy, in a calm and welcoming environment.
Through engaging activities, interactive exercises, and play-based approaches, therapists ensure that children not only develop critical skills but also build confidence in their abilities. The therapy rooms reflect our commitment to providing comprehensive, supportive care, empowering every child to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
An Outdoor Playground for Exploration and Physical Activity
Our outdoor playground is a vibrant space where children can explore, play, and engage in physical activities. With age-appropriate equipment, including climbing structures, and open spaces for imaginative play, the playground promotes gross motor development, coordination, and social interaction.
This space encourages children to take part in team activities, outdoor games, and physical exercise, fostering a sense of adventure and well-being while enjoying the fresh air and natural surroundings.
An Onsite Kitchen Providing Healthy Meals and Snacks
At our facility, we have a fully equipped onsite kitchen where nutritious meals and snacks are prepared daily, focusing on providing a balanced diet for growing children.
A Sensory Room for Unique Learning Experiences
Our sensory room is designed to provide a calming, stimulating environment where children can engage their senses through various textures, sounds, lights, and activities. It’s an ideal space for children to develop sensory processing skills, emotional regulation, and creativity.

FD Curriculum at I Am Prep
At I Am Prep, we proudly implement the FD Curriculum, a dynamic and engaging early childhood education program designed to spark creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning. FD blends play-based learning with structured activities that support children's development across key areas, including language, math, science, social-emotional growth, and fine and gross motor skills. Each day is thoughtfully planned to keep little minds engaged through hands-on experiences, interactive lessons, and exciting themed activities that make learning fun and meaningful.
What makes FD unique is its adaptability to different learning styles and classroom needs, ensuring that every child receives a well-rounded education tailored to their pace and interests. Our teachers use this innovative curriculum to create an environment where children feel confident exploring new concepts, asking questions, and developing essential life skills. With a focus on both academic readiness and social-emotional growth, FD helps prepare our students for future success while keeping their days filled with joy, laughter, and discovery!
Before and After School Care
Our before- and after-school care programs provide a safe, engaging environment for elementary students outside regular school hours. In the mornings, children can enjoy a calm start to their day with quiet activities or breakfast. After school, they participate in a variety of activities, including homework help, group games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play. These programs accommodate busy schedules while ensuring children have fun, build friendships, and develop new skills.
Both buildings embody I Am Prep Academy’s mission to combine structured learning with play-based experiences, creating a rich environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Merging Teaching and Childcare
We offer a variety of programs, including care for infants and toddlers, preschool, kindergarten, and elementary-age schooling.
We also offer before and after-school care for children 5 to 9 years old.
We believe that it’s never too early to start learning and that it’s vital to always present opportunities for children to learn and grow as soon as they start at our academy.
By developing our programs with curriculum experts and childcare specialists, we’ve been able to hone in on what makes early education a success and created a learning program that allows our children to enter school seamlessly.
